From Reno, Nevada .......
Take Hwy 395
North to the Hallelujah Junction ( intersection of Hwy 395 North. &
Hwy 70 West) . Travel west on State Route 70 to Portola, California.
At the main traffic light in downtown Portola, take a left on to
Gulling Road and traverse the bridge/Truckee River. At the bottom of
the bridge turn right on to Commercial Street and follow the County
Road A-15 signs. The road is a series “Z’s”. The road will straighten
after 4 turns. Stay on County Road A-15 for approximately 10 miles. On
the right hand side of the road you will see a large granite mark
hosting the name “Gold Mountain” shortly thereafter you see the
eleventh fairway to your left and another set of Granite rock signs for
Nakoma. ( A-15 at Bear Run).
From Sacramento, CA, or Truckee, CA.
Take Hwy 80 East until reaching the overpass for State Route 89. Take
State Route 89 north for approximately 40 miles. On SR 89, Shortly
after passing Whitehawk Golf Resort on you will see a California State
Highway marker ( blue and yellow sign) denoting County Road A-15. Take
a right turn on to A-15 and proceed for approximately 5 miles to your
right you will see a set of Granite rock signs for Nakoma. ( A-15 at
Bear Run).
